Onenightfriend Scam Analysis

To prepare a detailed scam analysis, we had to answer multiple questions during hands-on testing of Onenightfriend. We observed user activity on-site for 3 weeks and analyzed potential scams. Additionally, we reviewed terms and conditions, privacy policy, and other legitimate online sources where real users shared their experiences about Onenightfriend.

Learn more about fraud patterns detected on Onenightfriend and avoid other potential rip-offs from the same or similar company. Keep reading.

Does Onenightfriend terms and conditions state the use of deceptive, scam-like practices?

Under the Terms of use, you can see the column CUSTOM AND PROMOTED MESSAGES. Here they talk about custom messages in the form of a template with pre-composed text. The concept of what they describe is confusing and sounds like an automated bot message.

The purpose of such promoted messages is not entirely clear. They mention Flirtcasts, Promote my account feature, and some other messages they do not specify. See below:

The Flirtcast feature is visible on the website's dashboard alongside all profiles. It's a functionality that instantly sends a message to multiple users. As they say, "broadcast" messages to all members, and it's optional to use. It is an odd feature since you don't get to see this message broadcasted, what kind of text, or to whom you send it.

Promoted messages are selected from a default list or created by the other users and sent on your behalf. The concept sounds sketchy, and its description is very likely a bot.

When you register, these promo messages are already activated for you, so you don't get to choose if you want it on. To switch it off, you must go under your account settings and deactivate it manually. See here:

Your Profile Information Distributed On Multiple Sites

Our jaws dropped when we spotted several dodgy practices mentioned under Onenightfriend terms and privacy policy. If you have or have ever had an account on this or a similar website, you should know how your private information is used.

Terms of use paragraph 6 OUR RIGHTS, column B states that Onenightfriend has the right to use and distribute your personal information, such as photos uploaded on multiple sites that belong to their partner sites. See here:

Their privacy policy states that they have an extensive network of sites that they categorise as casual sites (for adults looking for short-term consensual casual relationships). It is not specified how many sites there are in total. Is it 5, 10, or hundreds of such sites that you agree to have your information displayed? Every member should know and understand that by signing up at Onenightstand.com, he is signing up for a bunch of other sites at the same time that he has never seen. See screenshot below:

Moreover, removing your personal information from their sites seems impossible. Whether you proceed with a subscription plan or not, copies of your provided information will remain visible on the internet. See below:

Read HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION IN DETAIL under the Privacy Policy of this dating site. Here you will find all the dodgy practices they implement described in more detail.

So answering the question if it's safe to use this dating site. Our short answer is no. What we found under site terms sounds too sketchy for a legit dating site.

Does Onenightfriend have Fake Profiles?

1. Can you find photos of their profiles using a reverse image search?

We could find profile photos displayed elsewhere (on various porn-leaked websites). The quality of each picture was low and small in size, which might have stopped us from revealing more fake identities of women members of Onenightfriend.

2. Can you find Onenightfriend profiles on social media?

None of the more than 20 women we approached agreed to share her social media account with us. We did not find the same profiles on social media when using an image search. At least not with the same name and identity.

3. Are users on Onenightfriend willing to share photos of themselves?

None of the women we approached shared photos of themselves in a current moment, which made it look very suspicious.

4. How often are they online?

The system will display a green dot next to their profile photo, which means the profile is online now. While testing, we noticed that women often claimed they had to leave. Still, their profile will remain active online for much longer. In this sense, the system's given online profile batch does not correspond with what its member says.

Overall impression

Women members do not act sensible in chat. The age indicated under some female profiles did not match the look of their profile picture.

Conclusion

Women's profiles on Onenightfriend seem to be fake.

What are Fake Profiles, and why can you find them on some Dating Sites?

Fake profiles are made-up personalities on a dating site that are virtually indistinguishable from real profiles at first glance. Dishonest dating site providers use them to lure in unsuspecting users. Fake profiles make a dating site look more active and busy when there are no actual members. Therefore, be careful which dating site you choose.

Does Onenightfriend use Chatbots?

To find out if Onenightfriend uses chatbots, we engaged in conversations with multiple members on this site.

1. When and how many messages do we get?

The first message pops into our inbox as soon as we sign up, which seems unrealistic. We did not add any information yet, such as a profile photo or about me text. In less than 10 minutes, we receive messages from 2 more women. The more time we spend browsing and checking profiles, the more messages we receive. By the next day, more than ten women were craving to chat with us on onenightfriend.com.

We repeated the test with multiple new male user accounts to see if an instant message was just a "coincidence." The same scenario occurs every time we create a new user, and we get a message instantly. Very unlikely that each time a real woman is checking new, just registered users. Why would someone do that?

What do they write in those messages, and how are they written?

A common trend, after 10 minutes, all women say to us that they have to leave. We received the same goodbye message from two women, which did not sound natural.

Overall impression

What women members say in the chat is often not true to life. They are unaware of the streets or places in the city that they claim to be living in. More unexpected questions trigger confusion in a chat.

Conclusion

Onenightfriend is very likely to use bots to reply to messages on behalf of fake profiles.

What are Bots, and why are they used on Dating Sites?

A Bot is a computer program made to automatically chat with you on behalf of a fake profile on a dating site. When you receive a message straight after you created your profile from another active user (who often happens to be an attractive single living nearby), this usually is a bot message and not a reply from an actual fellow human.

Does Onenightfriend use Chat Agent or Chat Operators?

1. Is our Chat Partner willing to move to a free Chat Platform?

None of the 25 women we asked agreed to share her phone number with us or any other free messenger details.

2. Is our Chat Partner willing to go on a Date? (And doesn't cancel last minute)

During our extensive testing period lasting for longer than two weeks, we didn't manage to convince anyone from Onenightfriend to come and meet person to person.

3. Is our Chat Partner sharing things about herself?

Our chat partners seem programmed to ask questions rather than talk about themself. We can not say that we found the conversation realistic. It did not feel like a live human talking to us. It seemed like the bot handled the conversation rather than a chat agent.

Overall impression

We felt like talking with a robot most of the time.

Conclusion

Onenightfriend seems to be using chatbots more often than chat agents to answer your messages or start new conversations.

Who are Chat Operators, and how are they used to part you from your money?

Chat operators, also called chat moderators, are real people hired to send messages on behalf of fake profiles (just like chatbots). They will try to engage you in a conversation with a made-up profile, so you could spend more money paying for expensive messages.

Trustpilot score 1.7 out of 5, based on 50 reviews

See Onenightfriend Reviews on Trustpilot

Trustpilot has many mixed reviews written by people who used their service. Mainly people complain about misleading charges, difficulties canceling repeated billing, reaching out to customer support, or asking for a refund.

Onenightfriend representatives take time to reply to negative reviews written about their dating site as they have claimed their profile on Trustpilot. Their answers, however, are not too convincing and not much of a help for irritated users. Members complain that they can not reach customer support and cancel their subscriptions. At the same time, Onenightfriend representatives keep repeating the exact phrase: do not hesitate to contact our customer support via phone or email.

Not a single real profile. Not one! When reported the site has an automated automatic response saying it's not a fake profile. When it's clearly the site messaging and all use the same American slang. None can answer odd questions as it messes up the bots algorithm. Bore off with your fake site and fake profiles.

Site is a scam. You can talk with these ladies 24/7 for weeks and make no progress. They will tell you something like "I just feel safe chatting in here" or "this site lets me be discreet". The women don't want to meet. The site just tries to get you to buy coins and waste your money. It would be better if they allowed you to buy unlimited coins per month, but it's only for entertainment purposes and wayyyyy too expensive.

Don't bother, stupidly I paid for the 1 day trial and immediately became suspicious at the bot like messages I was receiving. Then when I looked into how to cancel the subscription, I found out I had to make a phone call to a premium number (because of course). Upon phoning the number I was put into contact with a foreign-sounding lady whom I could barely understand and who tried to forward my subscription to another site (which I'm sure she probably did anyway against my consent). After 20 minutes on the phone she told me she'd cancelled my subscription (remember I was still within the 24 hour trial period), checked my email to see a cancellation email, then I checked my profile on the site to see I'd been billed for the coming month too....absolute scam, I'd cancelled before the 24 hours was up and was STILL billed for the coming month.....pretty sure that's fraud

UPDATE: Just attempted to email them to tell them about my situation and try to get a refund and got an automated response email saying the email went in their spam folder, I'll keep you updated

FURTHER UPDATE: got an email response, while I can't get the 20 odd pounds back I have had email verification that I won't be billed again, that's something I suppose

Scamadviser Trust Score

The user rating of only-flirts on Scamadviser is only 4.3 out of 5 out of 103 Reviews. The trust score is 65/100.

See Onenightfriend reviews on Scamadviser

Only-flirts terms clearly state the usage of such deceiving practices as messaging on behalf of fake profiles. See column number 10, PROFILES AND INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS. It mentions that so-called system profiles are created and managed by the company here

Conclusion - Is it Safe to Use Onenightfriend?

Based on our extensive analysis and testing, Only-flirts proves to be an unsafe dating site where your chances of meeting a real woman are equal to zero. At the same time, reviews of real users and other nonaffiliated sites like Trustpilot are strongly backing up the results of our findings. Only-flirts is a scam where you will not find honest people to chat with or meet. It's not worth your time and money. Stay away.
