CrushNearby is a hookup site, but is it worth the money? We signed up to the website and used it for a while to find out if you can actually meet a woman on CrusNearby. Our results are disappointing however. Just like any fishy dating platform, CrushNearby uses every trick in the book to deceive you and push you into signing up for their paid subscription. On further inspection CrushNearby is created by Meteor Interactive, a dating company which is known for running scammy dating sites. CrushNearby uses the same formula as their other dating sites.
From the landing page itself, you should be seeing some wrong stuff already - primarily the website’s claim of “4 million members” which could be rivaling the likes of Tinder at this point in terms of organic members. It's pretty clear that this is not real. Read on to find out why.
Whether you seek love or lust, there are other legitimate websites that you can go for instead. Adult Friend Finder is the best alternative if you want to meet with real people looking for the same desires as you or if you just want to have steamy online conversations with them.
A more subtle choice is Tinder, which is more of a casual conversation and online speed dating app thanks to its convenient Swipe system to match with someone you like. As for CrushNearby, do not let its front page fool you as everything is heavily monetized and no organic person will talk to you there. If you want to know more about CrushNearby and why we suspect it is a scam website, continue to read below.
If there is one positive trait of CrushNearby, it guarantees zero monthly fees. That means you do not need to purchase a sort of VIP level so more ladies can see your presence in the community.
Zero monthly subscription also lets you sleep soundly knowing that it will never renew your credit card payment. However, there is a catch to this. Read more below for the full details.
Meteor Interactive B.V. uses the same terms and conditions for all their dating sites including services, user-generated content, and accounts. Much like all of Meteor’s statements, the most suspicious part is the one under ACCOUNTS, PROFILES, AND SOCIAL FEATURES.
We are specifically referring to a confirmation that the website is filled with bots where it reads, “Profiles marked with a heart icon: are fictional entertainers’ profiles rather than members profiles, physical contact with these profiles is not possible.”
This scammy feature is very hardly noticeable on CrushNearby as the icon of a heart is very tiny. Watch out for this icon if you don't want to end up chatting with fictional entertainers. See here:

Much like any dating site from Meteor, you will get bombarded with messages from women the moment you establish your profile. Unfortunately, while their profile pictures are hot, they’re just bots.
For “4 million members”, it sure feels like we were the only organic ones online. In less than 15 minutes, we already got messages from multiple profiles with most of them leaving suspicious links.
Also, contrary to what the landing page says, the profiles do not have multiple images. If you were someone who wants a guy to bone you, wouldn’t you upload your sexiest pictures? It seems that the “women” on the site are quite shy about it since there is only one image per person. The lack of content is quite the opposite of how lewd their messages are when we scrolled through the site.
It seems like Meteor Interactive recycled the same user interface from their other websites for this one. The only main difference in CrushNearby is that it uses the color yellow.

If you put this interface side by side with the sites of MySecretNeighbors and WomenWithSecrets that we reviewed in the past, you can barely see the uniqueness of each.
CrushNearby is the same as the rest of Meteor Interactive’s dating sites: prices start at $6 for 3 messages and up to $300 per 300 messages.

That means every message will cost you, whether it’s a long flirtatious text or just a simple “hello.” Even if you mistakenly type “h,” it still gets credited.
Unfair? Quite so.
Furthermore, from its terms and conditions, we are aware that some women are fake and that “physical contact with these profiles is not possible.” If so, why does someone need to pay just to simulate a conversation with a bot? You’re better off talking to an AI chat app instead - and it’s free.
To cut it short, yes. CrushNearby is a recycled dating website filled with bots and inaccessibility for free users. Even if you have the money to buy message credits, what good is there when you are just wasting it on fake profiles?
If you want to get into quick action, CrushNearby is not the one for you. The complications in signing up, the constant message spam, the DM paywall, and the struggle with the interface will just hinder you relentlessly.
You can register and browse members on-site without paying. However, if you want to message anyone, you will have to buy credits.
Looking at familiar dating sites including MySecretNeighbors and HotDailyFlirts, they all use the same tactics: per-message payments for men in America looking for a quick fling. CrushNearby kicks it up a notch with its incredibly promiscuous nature that claims every woman on the site is unhinged with their desire for the opposite sex.
